Ruth and I went to the Somerset Face Painting Jam 2016 yesterday – and you’d think from this blog that it’s probably the only time we pick up brushes each year, but I promise it isn’t!!
The last year has been full of ballooning & face paint fun with twists and turns along the way but all of our adventures still lead us back to the face painting world.
Yesterday the Jam was as well organised as ever by the lovely Katie at Magic Minds Face Painting in Bridgewater. She throws a great event with lots of fun going on and Natalie came all the way from Essex with The Face Painting Shop and all her goodies. (I have so many new lovely things to play with now!) It was an opportunity to meet new people who share our love of this creative work that we do and catch up with friends from around the South West and beyond.
We didn’t take part in as much painting this year – mainly because it’s been a busy week and Ruth & I agreed we were going to have a chilled fun girlie day together. However we did do some arty doodling in other mediums. Ruth challenged me to create a Pop Art character, so I gave it a go!
I’m not sure whether I prefer the black and white or coloured version, but it was fun to create.
It started out Pop Art and then the Zentangling influence may have kicked in. 🙂 The starting point was heavily influenced by an artist called Dean Russo – please check them out on Pinterest. It’s beautiful art!
So, HAPPY NEW YEAR! We’re all looking forward to creating more smiles for you with our face painting and balloon modelling in 2016. See you soon.
